0087 – Four Monroe citizens at the Cadillac Hotel
The Hotel Pearsall on the southwest corner of Main and Ferry Streets was renamed the Cadillac Hotel in May 1912 after a remodeling. The name was again changed sometime after WWI to the Healy Hotel. Ed Ritchie, Alfus? Buck—not clear on who is who. 1/06

0061 – Storefront of Camp Riley Drug prior to 1948
On the south side of East Main at 108 E. Main Street. According to Grace Kirwan, the brass trim about six to eight inches wide above “Candies - Drugs” had to be polished frequently. 1/03

0024 – Dennis Barber Shop with Dennis Family
This photo was taken before the 1901 fire which destroyed this building. The Dennis family is at center. The building, with the barber shop, was rebuilt as a two story structure. 1/16

0001 – Henry Dennis in his barbershop c1925
Located on the south side of East Main, the Dennis Barbershop was one of the first businesses to be established in Monroe. The original barbershop burned in the 1901 fire. It provided weekly baths and shaves for the loggers who crowded Monroe on weekends. Henry Dennis, Sr. is on the left. 1/19
